Hellothere!

Get to know me

I’m a picturebook illustrator from The Netherlands. My drawings tell stories about magic, animals, and making things by hand. They show the importance of creativity and empathy.

I teach various in person art classes, from watercolor to digital drawing, in the area in and around Leiden. Putting my thoughts and ideas on paper gives me the feeling that everything is possible.

Like creating magic from nothing. There is a vast world inside of us and the things that we make, that needs to be visualised. That’s exactly what I love to do.

How I started

I’ve been drawing since the moment I could hold a pencil. After training as an illustrator in Rotterdam, I spent two years teaching myself the things I was hungry for: colour, anatomy, perspective, through books, online courses and a lot of stubborn practice. This is how I found the best ways to teach and always keep a beginner mentality in mind.

Telling stories

As an illustrator and writer of childrensbooks, I create stories about kids and animals doing creative activities like baking, gardening and crafting. These stories often show the magic of doing things together and by hand.

This reflects my love of mindfulness, creativity, and community. Because I believe that they are important for a full life. Using humor, I play with these values inside fun and engaging stories.

Inspiration & aesthetic
